Job summary

The Job People recruit a Night Machine Operator to join the Melting Department on a permanent night shift in Dronfield, Derbyshire. The role is full-time, temp-to-perm, with nights from 5:30pm to 5:30am and overtime opportunities.

Training and career development are provided in a long-established manufacturing business. Applicants should have previous machine operating experience in manufacturing or heavy industry, a strong safety mindset, and good communication skills.

Qualifications

• Experience as a machine operator in manufacturing, foundry, or heavy industry.
• Experience operating machinery in a production environment.
• Strong commitment to workplace safety and teamwork.
• Reliable and willing to learn new processes.

Responsibilities

• Charge furnaces with scrap metal and raw materials for melting.
• Monitor and maintain molten metal at required temperatures.
• Take metal samples and perform temperature checks as needed.
• Remove impurities through slagging operations.
• Pour molten metal accurately into treatment ladles.
• Assist with crane operations and material handling when required.
• Carry out routine maintenance and prepare equipment for next shift.
• Maintain housekeeping standards and follow health and safety procedures.
