Job summary

The Job People are seeking a Night Machine Operator in Dronfield, Derbyshire to join the melting department on a permanent night shift. This role offers a stable, long-term position with nights from 5:30pm to 5:30am.

You will load furnaces with scrap metal and materials, monitor molten metal temperatures, take samples and perform temperature checks, and support crane operations as needed while upholding safety standards.

Qualifications

• Experience as a machine operator in manufacturing or heavy industry.
• Experience operating machinery in a production environment.
• Overhead crane experience would be advantageous.
• Strong commitment to workplace safety.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Reliable, hardworking and willing to learn.

Responsibilities

• Charge furnaces with scrap metal and raw materials for melting.
• Monitor and maintain molten metal at the required temperatures.
• Take metal samples and carry out temperature checks as required.
• Remove impurities through slagging operations.
• Pour molten metal accurately into treatment ladles.
• Assist with crane operations and material handling when required.
• Carry out routine maintenance and preparation of equipment for the next shift.
• Maintain housekeeping standards and follow all health and safety procedures.

Salary: GBP16.62 - GBP17.97 per hour + plus overtime available

Shift Pattern: Nights, 5:30pm to 5:30am

Rate of pay: £16.62ph for the first 38 hours, then £17.97ph after 38 hours

The Job People are looking to recruit a dedicated and reliable Night Machine Operator 's to join a busy Melting Department on a permanent night shift. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Machine Operator or someone with a manufacturing background looking to develop their skills within a well-established engineering business.
