Job summary

Tata Steel in Lisburn seeks a Line Operator (Nights) to join their production team. The role starts on training at £13.26 per hour, rising to £14.58 per hour on the shift pattern, with an initial 6‑month period and potential progression to permanent positions.

Based at Tata Steel, Lissue Walk, Lisburn, the job requires heavy industry experience, a valid driving licence and flexibility to work the listed night patterns. A medical, including drug and alcohol testing, is part of the start process.

Responsibilities

• Manufacture steel products to robust spec and maintain quality checks
• Label, record and store products per company guidelines
• Operate overhead cranes and heavy machinery (slitting, decoiling, shearing) after training
• Adhere to plant procedures, PPE rules and COSHH/health & safety regulations
• Assist with equipment maintenance and safe operation of shop-floor machinery
• Participate in continuous improvement and personal development
• Maintain clear written and verbal communication
• Adhere to listed shift patterns and overtime requirements
• Hold a valid driving licence or access to own vehicle due to shift timings
• Support progression to permanent roles and industry qualifications
