Job summary

Pilgrim’s Europe in Bodmin is seeking a Site Presentation Area Leader - Hygiene Nights Area to oversee hygiene operatives, ensuring correct procedures and high hygiene standards across the night shift. The role focuses on supervision, paperwork accuracy, and adherence to codes of practice in a food manufacturing setting.

You will coordinate breaks, train new starters, and follow COSHH and safety procedures while optimizing cleanliness, safety, and efficiency.

Qualifications

• GCSEs in Maths and English at Grade C or above.
• Food Safety Level 2.
• COSHH training provided.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the hygiene operatives in the area to ensure correct procedures during hygiene tasks and that hygiene standards are met or exceeded.
• Inspect finished equipment standards on completion of hygiene tasks.
• Complete required paperwork to comply with external customer codes of practice.
• Schedule and monitor breaks during the night shift for hygiene operatives in the area.
• Report any issues to engineering and the hygiene senior supervisor to avoid downtime at start of production.
• Train hygiene operatives in hygiene standard operating procedures and complete sign off paperwork on CICs.
• Complete COSHH training with all new starters.
• Operate and follow health and safety procedures when using chemicals and when dismantling/reassembling equipment.
• Work with the hygiene team to complete tasks within required timeframes and support others as needed.
• Seek to minimise waste from chemicals and cleaning equipment.
• Ensure PPE and consumables are always available for staff in production areas.
• Keep stock numbers up to date through the night.
• Plan weekly and periodical plans through the week.

Education

GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English at Grade C or above
