Another Place, The Lake in the Lake District offers a unique hospitality experience on Ullswater. We are seeking a Night House Manager to lead nightly operations, oversee guest issues, and manage the night audit with a hands-on front desk presence.

The role is 40 hours per week, four nights from seven, and requires your own transport. You will ensure security, maintain SOPs, supervise the night cleaner, and hand over to the morning team with clear notes.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years’ experience in a similar role.
• Experience running night audits.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Diplomatic nature.
• Knowledge of hotel PMS system.
• MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Front-of-house experience.
• First Aid qualification preferred.
• DBS check preferred.
• Fire warden experience preferred.
• Ability to stay calm under pressure.
• Commitment to customer service.
• Strong team player.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing and assisting in the smooth running of all guest-related issues.
• Being physically present at the front desk until guests have returned to their rooms.
• Ensuring the night audit is run accurately and in line with SOPs.
• Preparing arrival and charge cards for following day’s arrivals.
• Carrying out regular floor checks.
• Preparing and delivering any room service orders.
• Overseeing the night cleaner and ensuring cleaning to standard.
• Ensuring internal security of the building (doors, CCTV).
• Maintaining reception cleanliness and fireside maintenance.
• Advising management of major incidents per emergency sheet.
• Enforcing company policies for performance and reputation.
• Providing a detailed handover to the early House Manager.
• Supporting management with relevant administration tasks.

Our Night House Manager role

The main duty of the Night House Manager is to be responsible for the operation of the hotel during the night, while running night audits and providing friendly and efficient reception service. This role is contracted for 40 hours per week, four nights out of seven, and your own transport is essential.

As our Night House Manager you’ll be:

• Overseeing and assisting in the smooth running of all guest-related issues
• Having a physical presence at the front desk until all guests have returned to their rooms
• Ensuring the night audit is run accurately and in line with SOPs
• Preparing the arrival cards and charge cards for the following day’s arrivals
• Carrying out regular floor checks
• Preparing and deliver any room service orders
• Overseeing the night cleaner and ensure all areas are being cleaned to the required standard
• Ensuring the internal security of the building. I.e. External doors are locked and secure, CCTV is monitored regularly
• Being responsible for the cleanliness of the reception area, and the cleaning and maintenance of the open fires
• Advising senior management of any major incident as per emergency contact sheet
• Enforcing and comply with all company policies and procedures which are fundamental in maintaining effective performance, communication and good business reputation
• Providing a detailed handover to the early House Manager, including any guest related or maintenance issues
• Supporting the management team with any relevant administration tasks as required

The skills you’ll be sharing with us:

• A minimum of two years’ experience in a similar role
• Experience of running night audit
• Excellent communication skills
• Diplomatic nature
• A sound knowledge of a hotel integrated PMS system
• Good knowledge of Microsoft office, Word, Excel & Outlook
• Previous front-of-house experience
• First Aid qualification is preferred
• Current Enhanced DBS check is preferred
• Fire warden experience is preferred
• Ability to remain calm under pressure
• Commitment to customer service
• Strong team player, with bags of enthusiasm and personality
