Job summary

Waitrose & Partners in East Grinstead is hiring a Supermarket Assistant to support day-to-day store operations and deliver customer-focused service. You will restock shelves, prepare online orders for delivery, and help reduce waste while working with colleagues across checkout, Click & Collect and other duties.

The role emphasises flexible hours and a part-time schedule, with hours up to 20 per week, including weekends, and a night premium for late shifts.

Qualifications

• Communication skills to enable you to work effectively as part of a team and with our customers.
• Experience of working in a customer facing role is welcomed.
• Up to date knowledge and strong interest in food and drink trends.
• Flexible approach to ensure the support of the whole branch.

Responsibilities

• Stock replenishment - keeping shelves full and in the right place for customers.
• Fulfilling online customer orders for driver delivery.
• Reducing wastage by following due diligence and markdowns near sell-by dates.
• Working with the shop team to support checkout, Click & Collect and other orders.
• Maintain a safe and tidy working environment with general shopkeeping tasks.
