Job summary

First Bus London is seeking an experienced Night Engineer based at Fulwell garage to keep our fleet safe and reliable. You will conduct routine inspections and servicing, applying diagnostic tools to resolve faults across engines and electrical systems for a busy night schedule.

You’ll work with drivers and operations teams, maintain high safety standards, and support continuous service improvement through proactive maintenance and timely repairs.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in vehicle mechanical engineering.
• PSV driving licence is required.
• Experience in bus/coach/HGV mechanical engineering.
• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Full and current driving licence.
• Strong IT skills including Outlook and Excel.
• Experience using OEM diagnostic test equipment to interpret fault codes and repair faults.
• Up-to-date knowledge of DVSA PSV inspection standards and regulations.
• Flexible to work on night rota.
• Desirable: experience maintaining one or more bus suppliers.

Are you an experienced Night Engineer looking for a new and exciting challenge? We're currently looking for a Night Engineer to be based at Fulwell garage. What we're looking for

We're after someone who's a strong communicator, organised, and a team player. You'll need to bring:

• Previous experience working in the bus, coach, light or HGV industry as a mechanical engineer
• Must have a PSV driving licence
• A NVQ level 3 or equivalent in vehicle mechanical engineering
• Good understanding of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems
• A full and current driving licence
• Strong IT skills including Microsoft outlook and excel
• Previous use of OEM diagnostic test equipment to interpret fault codes, identify and repair faults on a vehicle system
• Up to date knowledge of DVSA PSV inspection standards and regulations
• Flexible to work on night rota
• Proven experience in maintaining one or more bus suppliers (Desirable)
