Job summary

Marie Curie is seeking a Healthcare Assistant to provide overnight, one-to-one end-of-life care in patients' homes across Central Cornwall. You will work night shifts (10:00pm–7:00am) on a permanent, part-time basis (18, 27 or 36 hours) and receive enhanced pay for night work.

You will support patients to remain comfortable and dignified during the night, following care plans and liaising with the multidisciplinary team. A signing bonus is available after six months of service.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent).
• At least six months' experience delivering care in a health or social care setting.
• A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle with business insurance.
• Excellent communication skills and a compassionate approach.
• Experience or knowledge of palliative and end-of-life care.

Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, person-centred care in patients' homes.
• Support comfort, dignity and wellbeing throughout the night.
• Monitor and report changes in patient condition.
• Follow personalised care plans and work closely with the wider clinical team.
• Provide reassurance and support to patients and those important to them.
