Job summary

Together Trust in Romiley, Stockport is seeking Night Care Workers to support young people with disabilities in a residential setting. You will attend to residents' needs at night, maintain essential records, and help create a family-like, safe environment.

Shifts are 10pm–8am, 20 hours per week over two nights, with extra shifts to cover leave. GCSE level education is requested, previous experience with disabled young people is preferred, and a DBS check will be completed at no cost.

  • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Attend to the needs of children and young adults during the night.
  • Perform domestic duties as required and record keeping in line with regulations.
  • Support residents to feel safe and cared for in a home environment.
  • Cooperate with the on-site Registered Manager and night team.

We have a rewarding opportunity for a Night Care Workers to join our residential service in Romiley, Stockport. You will be working in a caring home environment with the wider team under the leadership of the Registered Manager, nurturing, and supporting the young people providing them with all the care and support that they would receive as if it was their family home.

The core tasks include attending to the needs of the children and young adults during the night, some of which have complex health conditions, domestic duties and appropriate record keeping in accordance with legislation and regulation. Another member of staff will sleep in the unit and can be disturbed if there is an emergency.

Hours per week – 20 hours per week worked over 2-night shifts according to the rota (which will include weekends), there is an expectation to pick up extra shifts to cover leave and sickness as needed, the shifts are 10pm – 8am the next day.

Location - Romiley, Stockport, Greater Manchester Salary - £13,989.33 per year (13.45ph) pro-rated to 20 hours, based on a salary of £26,230 for a 37.5 hour week Additional enhancements – Night Working Enhanced Payment of time and a quarter paid at weekend and from 11pm and 6am weekdays (£16.82ph) Safeguarding checks will be undertaken for the successful candidate in line with our safer recruitment policy, including an Enhanced DBS check (at no cost to yourself).
