Job summary

Gloucester Charities Trust is seeking a Care and Support Assistant (nights) for Guild House. The role offers a 42-hour week on a two-week rota, with shifts from 7pm to 7am. The pay starts at £12.74 per hour, increasing to £13.00 after medications training, plus £1.00 per hour at weekends.

The post focuses on compassionate, person-centered care for older residents, including those with dementia, and a strong emphasis on dignity and respect. Full training and development are provided.

Qualifications

• Experience in adult care and a caring, compassionate approach.
• Ability to work night shifts and on a rota.
• Willingness to achieve NVQ/QCF 2 or Care Certificate if not already held.

Responsibilities

• Support older residents, including those with dementia, to live independently with dignity.
• Develop and follow individual care and lifestyle plans tailored to each resident.
• Engage residents in activities and social interactions with family and friends.
• Provide care during night shifts (7pm–7am) on a 42-hour weekly rota.
