Job summary

The Orders of St John Care Trust is seeking a Night Care Leader in Malmesbury. You will lead a small team of carers during night shifts, ensuring wakeful care, safety and the proper execution of care plans.

You’ll maintain accurate records and coordinate tasks to support residents’ wellbeing. You'll have NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care or be progressing from Level 2, with experience leading a care team.

Qualifications

• NVQ Levels in Health & Social Care are required or must be pursued to level 3.
• Experience leading a care team and delivering high-quality resident care.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for coordinating with staff and residents.

Responsibilities

• Lead a small team of carers to supervise wakeful care during night shifts.
• Ensure care plans are regularly reviewed and records are accurate.
• Maintain safety and security of residents and the home during night hours.
• Manage time for yourself and your team to support resident wellbeing.

Location: Malmesbury

Pay rate: £16.90

Contracted hours: 48 a week, 12 hour shifts, alternate working weekends

ABOUT THE ROLE

Leading a small team of carers, you’ll be responsible for keeping wakeful watch on the security and safety of our residents and the home in general. You’ll ensure that care plans are regularly reviewed, understanding the importance of maintaining accurate records, and will be able to manage the time of both yourself and your team effectively to support the wellbeing of our residents. You’ll understand that some shifts might be challenging, but you’ll also laugh, have fun and make lasting memories with our residents.

ABOUT YOU

You’ll have NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care, or you’ve achieved NVQ Level 2, and you’re prepared to study for NVQ Level 3. You’ll also be experienced in leading a team to deliver care, be keen to progress to a role with greater levels of responsibility and be willing to undertake relevant training to support your career development in a nurturing, engaging and rewarding environment.

You’ll be a positive role model, with excellent communication skills and a natural ability to get along with others. A supportive leader, you’ll motivate your team to deliver the best possible care to our residents at all times.
