Job summary

Ryelands care home in Wallington is seeking a Care Assistant (Nights) to provide compassionate, person-centred care to residents. You will act as a keyworker, support admissions, and help maintain care plans aligned with MHA’s values of respect and wellbeing.

You will join a warm, values-led team with options for development and a rota including weekends. The role offers a maternity cover for 12 months and requires flexibility to ensure resident comfort and safety.

Qualifications

• Respect and sensitivity for older people.
• A willingness to be trained and developed (Level 1 or 2 in social care is encouraged).
• Good communication and listening skills.
• The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• A caring nature with patience and empathy.
• Previous care experience is desirable, though not essential.
• Work flexibly across a rota, including weekends.

Responsibilities

• Act as a keyworker for a group of residents and support admissions.
• Participate in developing and reviewing individual care plans, including those for residents with dementia.
• Provide personal and social care in line with care plans, enhancing residents’ physical, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing.
• Uphold safeguarding responsibilities, infection control, and health & safety practices.
