Job summary

Directorate: Adult Care, Housing & Public Health

Permanent, Part time, 19 Hours Per Week

Care assistants are required at the Lord Hardy Court on a permanent basis.

Weekend enhancements paid at time and a quarter. Double time and a day in leu for working bank holidays.

Lord Hardy Court provides care to 60 older people, with a range of individual needs, and Mental Health problems including Dementia and provides joint working with NHS to provide Step-up Step-down services to the community.

Applicants ideally need experience in a social care setting, and have Level 1 or Direct Care NVQ or equivalent, though training is available in- house and through the council’s own programmes.

Care staff are expected to contribute to the provision of a comfortable, stimulating homely environment, that meets Essential Standards of health and Safety and Dignity in Care Principles

Care Staff are also expected to contribute and develop a customer focused service that is responsive and flexible with regard to all customer needs.

Lord Hardy Court operates a shift system on a rota basis, this includes weekends, bank holidays, and cover is required up to 37hrs for leave and sickness.

This will involve a tour of the home, meeting customers, staff and visitors. After a tour of Lord Hardy Court, there will be an interview for the care assistant post.

Once all interviews are completed, applicants will be informed on the same day of the outcome of their interview. We ask you bring along your relevant documentation so that successful applicants will be able to apply for their DBS Checks.
