Job summary

Mearns View Care Home, part of Care Concern Group, is seeking a Care Assistant to provide high quality, person-centred care to our residents in Newton Mearns.

You will support daily living activities, follow care plans, and work with a friendly team to maintain dignity and wellbeing. We offer full training, PVG paid, pension, uniforms, and 5.6 weeks annual leave for full-time staff.

Qualifications

• Previous experience is beneficial but not essential.
• SVQ Level 2 is desirable or willingness to work towards.

Job description

Our purpose built, luxury 67-bed care facility is located in the charming town of Newton Mearns, East Renfrewshire. We are proud to provide a range of services which includes Residential, Nursing, Dementia, Respite & Palliative Care.

Care Assistant Contract

• £13.60 per hour
• Contracted to Full time hours per week
• Paid PVG, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As a Care Assistant, you will make a meaningful difference in our residents lives everyday. This role is central to delivering high quality, person centred care that supports dignity, independence and overall wellbeing.

You will support individuals with daily living including personal care, mobility, nutrition and emotional wellbeing, helping them feel comfortable, respected and valued. By following care plans and recognising changes in condition, you will contribute to safe, responsive and consistent care.

Working as part of a supportive team, you will help create a warm and positive environment where relationships matter and people feel truly cared for. This opportunity is open to both experienced carers and those new to care, with full training, guidance and ongoing development provided to support your journey.
