Job description

Dovehaven Care Homes are recruiting for a Care Assistant to join our team at Marsh House, Ulnes Walton Lane, Leyland. We currently have two positions available: working days from 7.30am to 1.30pm, 18 hours contact, two roles; or nights from 7.30pm to 11.30pm, 16 hours contact, two roles, with every other weekend involved.

Marsh House is a residential care home catering for up to 33 residents. The home specialises in dementia care, and our aim is to ensure all residents feel as comfortable as possible. Our homes promote independence, dignity, and respect through positive risk-taking and empowerment.

About the Role:

As a Care Assistant, you will assist other staff in the running of the home and maintain high standards of care and service towards residents, relatives, visitors, and staff. You will provide a range of personal and practical care to our residents.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Demonstrate compassion and empathy in caring for older people, through previous roles in social care or other roles.
• Be self-motivated, resilient, and well-organised.
• Be dependable, able to work well under pressure, and flexible to meet the needs of residents and the home.

Skills and Experience:

• Caring and sensitive to the needs of others.
• Committed to providing service excellence.
• Effective communication skills.
• Ability to provide emotional and social support.
• Committed to high standards of care, promoting dignity and respect.
• NVQ Level 2 in health and social care is desirable.
