Job summary

West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a motivated Supply Chain Controller for the Procurement & Supply Chain Department. The role involves using IT systems and handheld devices to receive goods, rotate stock, perform cycle counts, internal distribution, and supporting the migration to a full Inventory Management System.

Qualifications

• Good communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work to competing deadlines while maintaining accuracy.
• Previous experience in stock control or supply chain desirable.
• Knowledge of goods and services used within the NHS.

Responsibilities

• Receive, stock, rotate and replenish supplies.
• Manage stock at ward/department level using bar code/stock controls.
• Replenish, receipt, issue and stow stock in Genesis system.
• Rotate stock by expiry date to ensure oldest stock is used first.
• Process requisitions and authorise orders for wards/departments.
• Record returns to suppliers with correct paperwork and credits.
