Job summary

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is offering a permanent Purchasing Officer (Band 4) role within the Medical Procurement Team based in Glasgow Royal Infirmary. The role focuses on processing and procurement of requests for goods and services across NHSGGC.

The post involves tactical and transactional support within the Procurement Department, ensuring purchase-to-pay compliance and contributing to best value procurement practices, with flexibility for working patterns and visa sponsorship

Qualifications

• Experience in procurement, purchasing, finance, or administrative environments.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience using computerised purchasing or finance systems.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Good numerical and analytical skills with high accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Process purchasing requests in a timely manner and liaise with suppliers and stakeholders.
• Support governance and assurance activities and ensure purchase-to-pay compliance.
• Assist in delivering value procurement practices.
• Ensure processes align with Standing Financial Instructions and public sector regulations.
