Job summary

University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust is seeking Pre-registration Trainee Pharmacy Technician apprentices to start February/March 2027 across multiple sites in Birmingham. You will train at Walsall College one day per week toward the Open Awards Level 3 Diploma in Pharmacy Techniques.

The two-year fixed-term post offers AfC Band 2 pay (£25,272) and 27 days’ annual leave plus Bank Holidays, with possible pay protection provisions.

Qualifications

• GCSEs including Science, English Language & Maths (grade C/4) or equivalent.
• Pharmacy Services Level 2 can be accepted as alternative to GCSE Science.
• Experience working within a pharmacy environment desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, dispense and supply medicines to wards, departments and patients.
• Support Pharmacists in providing safe and effective drug treatment.
• Work in a systematic and accurate manner with good numeracy and communication.
