Job summary

Rydon Group Holdings Ltd is seeking a Fabric Engineer / Building Maintenance Operative to support NHS repairs across sites between Swindon and Salisbury. The role covers reactive, planned and preventative maintenance within a mobile team, ensuring safe, well-maintained healthcare facilities.

You will work with a highly skilled maintenance team, using handheld PDA, and participate in out-of-hours call-outs. A full driving licence is required; standard hours are 8am–5pm, Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

• Previous relevant experience in maintenance of buildings, ideally within the NHS or a healthcare contractor.
• Solid Health & Safety awareness and experience with handheld devices (PDA).
• Full driving licence required to operate across sites.

Responsibilities

• Reactive maintenance and weekly/monthly PPMs (e.g., emergency lighting, water temps, fire alarm testing).
• Repair and maintenance tasks including doors, taps, TMV servicing, cabinets, pipes and fabric repairs.
• Support planned upgrade works and refurbs to maintain a safe environment for service users.
• Use PDA to receive jobs, complete risk assessments and close jobs in real time.
• Be part of out-of-hours call-out rota for emergencies and some additional urgent repairs.
