Job summary

Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust in Leicestershire is seeking a Band 5 Pharmacy Technician to join the Pharmacy team on a permanent, full-time basis (37.5 hours per week). You will contribute to medicines management, work within wards across Mental Health, Learning Disabilities, and Community Health settings, and support safe and effective patient care as part of a skilled multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Dispensing inpatient, outpatient, clinical trial, and controlled drug prescriptions in line with SOPs.
• Using pharmacy systems to generate labels and manage stock issues, receipts, and transfers.
• Supporting medicines management services, including medicines reconciliation, patient drug histories, and assessing suitability of patients’ own medicines.
• Participating in the clozapine service.
• Undertaking accuracy checking within a technician-led dispensary.
• Supporting patient counselling and promoting medicines adherence.
• Assisting wards with the Trust’s ePrescribing system.
• Contributing to the smooth running of dispensary workflow, resolving queries, and escalating where appropriate.
