County Durham & Darlington NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Management Accountant to join our Financial Management function. The role provides financial support and guidance to the organisation, helping shape the department's financial strategy and deliver high-quality care.

The position offers hybrid working with on-site presence and option for home working, and opportunities for development and career progression within the NHS finance environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to provide and receive complex financial information to/from financial and non-financial staff
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
• Input into and interrogate the Finance General Ledger to obtain standard and ad hoc reports
• Ability to meet routine and ad hoc deadlines
• Must have good verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities

• Prepare / distribute monthly clinical care groups / corporates financial reports with the support of the Senior Management Accountant
• Input into the Oracle Financial Management System (Journals, budgets and data from feeder systems)
• Provide information and support to identify and interpret variances from budget and prepare monthly commentaries on key financial issues
• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets ensuring budgets reflect service requirements
• Develop close working relationships with other Accountants and finance staff to support NHS financial management
