Job summary

York Teaching Hospital Facilities Management LLP is seeking a Cleaning Operative (Band 2) for Easingwold Renal Unit. This permanent, part-time role is 30 hours per week on a four-weekly rota, with shift patterns and full NHS training.

You will work within the Facilities Management team, carrying out cleaning duties across designated areas and contributing to a safe, clean environment. The post includes NHS pension, holiday entitlement and development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Good basic education including reading, writing and basic numeric skills.
• Willingness to complete qualifications or training relevant to the role.
• BICSc Qualification/NVQ Level 2 in Cleaning/Catering or equivalent.
• Experience not required; full training provided.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness in designated areas in accordance with the work schedule.
• Operate cleaning machinery and lifting of items as required.
• Undertake specialist cleaning as directed by supervisor/nurse in charge.
• Use cleaning materials economically and store safely in the work area.
• Use colour-coded equipment to prevent cross-contamination.
