Job summary

Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 4 Dental Nurse for the Restorative Department on a 6-month fixed-term contract, 22.5 hours per week (Wed–Fri). The role is based at Birmingham Dental Hospital in the West Midlands and involves chair side support, clerical duties, and delivering high-quality care across a range of patients.

We require GDC registration, NVQ Level 3/Level 3 Diploma in Dental Nursing or equivalent, and evidence of infection control training.

Qualifications

• Dentist/nurse qualification enabling GDC registration (NVQ 3, Level 3 Diploma or equivalent).
• Registered with General Dental Council (GDC).
• Other Dental Nursing post qualifications held.
• Evidence of Infection Control training.

Responsibilities

• Provide chair side assistance to clinicians within the dental service.
• Carry out clerical and administrative duties to ensure efficient clinic operation.
• Maintain clinic and equipment, including dental instruments and medical devices, and arrange repairs as needed.
• Ensure availability and up-to-date status of medical emergency drugs and equipment.
• Provide postoperative instructions and support during anaesthetic sessions.
• Deliver oral health education to patients as required.
