Job summary

South Central Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an NHS 111 Health Advisor (Part Time) in Otterbourne. You will be the calm voice on the line, handling calls from everyday health concerns to emergencies, and will receive a full 6-week NHS Pathways training programme.

Starting at £13.17/hour with generous NHS enhancements (e.g., uplift on weekends and bank holidays) and pro rata annual leave. This role values compassion, confidence, clear communication and a genuine desire to help

Qualifications

  • GCSEs including English are required or equivalent
  • NHS Pathways training is provided
  • Customer/patient service experience is desirable but not required

Responsibilities

  • Handle a wide range of calls from health concerns to emergencies
  • Guide callers through NHS Pathways and assess urgency
  • Maintain compassionate, clear communication and resilience during shifts

Job responsibilities

Qualifications and Training

Good all-round education (i.e. 2 GCSEs at equivalent of grade 4 or above including English), or equivalent demonstrable experience in a similar role

For safeguarding reasons this role is only open to people aged over 18 years of age

NHS Pathways Trained

Knowledge and Experience

Experience in a customer/patient services environment, dealing with the members of the general public

Experience of using a computerised system

Experience of using a telephone as a regular means of communication in a work environment

Experience in a call centre environment

Geographical knowledge of the operational area

Experience of working rotating shifts

Previous experience of working in the voluntary or health sector

Previous experience of patient care

Knowledge of first aid and/or anatomy
