Job summary

GENEWIZ UK Ltd in Milton Keynes is seeking a Supervisor / Team Lead for the NGS lab. You will provide functional and disciplinary leadership, oversee daily operations, and drive quality and efficiency across workflows.

You will guide associates, train staff, manage performance, and coordinate resources to meet customer timelines while maintaining data integrity and ISO 15189/ISO 9001 compliance.

Qualifications

• Degree in life sciences or related field; lab supervision preferred.
• Experience leading and developing teams in regulated labs.
• Strong project management and organizational skills.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 and ISO 15189 standards advantageous.
• Proven ability to plan capacity and manage resources.
• Excellent communication with cross-site teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to Associate Scientists in the Milton Keynes NGS lab.
• Induct and train new staff; support ongoing development.
• Implement performance management with objectives and reviews.
• Plan capacity and coordinate resources for timely projects.
• Manage sample data integrity throughout processing journey.
• Monitor processes and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Coordinate internal QA and equipment maintenance schedules.
• Ensure compliance with ISO 15189 and ISO 9001 standards.
• Collaborate with HR, Finance, IT, Purchasing, Logistics, QA.
• Interface with international sites including the US, Germany, Japan, China, and UK Oxford.
• Oversee cost monitoring; procure equipment, consumables, and reagents.
• Conduct regular inventory audits and support audits.
