Job summary

SkyBlue Solutions is seeking an NG General Operative (NG Person Substation) for a National Grid project in Ipswich. You will support live substation work, assist with general labouring, and coordinate with supervisors and plant operators.

The role runs 07:30–18:00 for 2 months at £18.35 per hour PAYE only. Join a team delivering critical utility infrastructure on site.

Qualifications

• NG Person Substation qualification required.
• EUSR Utility SHEA Power certification required.
• Emergency First Aid at Work certification required.
• Plant & Vehicle Marshal (PVM) certification required.
• Fire Safety Awareness certification required.

Responsibilities

• Support site teams in a live National Grid substation environment.
• Assist with general labouring and operational tasks to support project delivery.
• Coordinate with supervisors, engineers and plant operators.
• Assist with safe lifting and material handling.
• Maintain clean, organised and compliant work areas.
• Adhere to National Grid and site safety standards at all times.
• Carry out tasks as directed to support ongoing construction activities.

NG General Operative (NG Person substation) to support works on a National Grid project in Ipswich.

Duties include:

• Supporting site teams working within a live National Grid substation environment
• Assisting with general labouring and operational tasks to support project delivery
• Coordinating with supervisors, engineers, and plant operators
• Assisting with safe lifting and material handling operations when required
• Maintaining clean, organised, and compliant work areas
