Job summary

Spotlight Sports Group is seeking a Newsletters Editor to lead its Racing Post newsletter portfolio across racing and sport. You will commission from desk editors, edit, produce and write emails, ensuring reach and engagement with a broad audience of enthusiasts and bettors.

You will report to the Head of Content, shape the newsletters' future direction, collaborate with CRM and marketing to convert anonymous readers into subscribers and readers into subscribers. Hybrid working is offered.

Qualifications

• Track record of journalism with sharp writing and a lively voice.
• Experience writing, editing and commissioning newsletters.
• Understanding newsletters as editorial products with reader dynamics.
• Comfort using performance data to inform editorial decisions and report on trends.
• Ability to collaborate across editorial and business teams, building trust.

Responsibilities

• Own the quality, consistency and tone of all editorial newsletters.
• Own the newsletter portfolio, deciding what to launch, retire or evolve.
• Commission newsletter content from editorial teams with right contributors.
• Write and edit newsletters with a strong voice and energy.
• Build newsletter capability across the department, coaching writers.
• Partner with CRM on timing, layout, segmentation and testing.
• Drive the technical ambition with features like live odds and personalization.
• Define success metrics and work with data/CRM to track them.
• Turn data into actionable insights for the newsroom and strategy.
• Drive sign-up growth with Audience and Marketing on widgets and journeys.
