The Sunday Times is looking for a news reporter who is a proven story-getter with the experience to land exclusives and the imagination to break fresh ground. The successful applicant will be a reporter with a track record of breaking stories across a broad range of areas.

Responsibilities
● Consistently deliver accurate, engaging copy to strict deadlines
● Cover major news stories across a broad range of areas
● Conceive and deliver large scale digital news projects
● Break agenda-setting exclusive stories
● Pitch ambitious, innovative investigations
● Maintain excellent contacts in current affairs
● Use social networking and other digital platforms to promote Sunday Times content
● Work collaboratively with other sections across the paper, particularly radio,
podcasts, digital and graphics, to ensure the best presentation of stories on our all
platforms

Skills and experience
● Experience reporting for a national newspaper, magazine or news website
● Demonstrable expertise in current affairs
● Keen attention to detail and meticulous fact-checking
● Good understanding of audience data and SEO techniques to maximise search results
● Able to use social media platforms to engage current and new audiences for The
Sunday Times
● Able to work autonomously and to strict deadlines
● Excellent presentation skills and able to communicate succinctly and effectively
● Unflappable and reliable under pressure
● A strong understanding of editorial compliance and regulatory issues
