Job summary

Meraki Talent partners with a leading Financial Services firm in Exeter to recruit a Fund Accountant who is newly qualified (ACA/ACCA) and ready to move from Audit into industry. This role focuses on SPVs/Funds within Real Estate, offering exposure to Private Equity and Asset Management.

The position involves regular client engagement, preparation of management accounts, NAV calculations, board packs, and statutory financial statements under IFRS and UK GAAP.

Qualifications

• ACA / ACCA Qualified - 2025/2026
• Experience in Audit / Assurance with knowledge of UK GAAP (FRS 102) & IFRS
• Strong communication and client-facing skills
• Attention to detail and team player
• Exposure to group accounting and consolidations
• Real estate experience helpful but not essential

Responsibilities

• Maintain accounting records for a number of large fund clients
• Review monthly/quarterly management accounts and other accounting reports
• Produce board packs and attend board meetings
• Review NAV reports and supporting calculations
• Prepare half year and annual financial statements under IFRS and UK GAAP, liaise with Auditors
• Client relationship: Day-to-day contact for multiple clients
• Ensure books and records are accurate and timely
• NAV calculation preparation
• Plan and schedule deadlines using internal software

Meraki are partnering with a leading Financial Services firm based in Exeter who are looking to recruit a qualified accountant to join the as a Fund Accountant.

The successful candidate will be a Newly Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA) who is looking to move from Audit, into industry. The position will work with leading firms within the Real Estate Investment sector, so offers an excellent opportunity to gain first hand experience within the world of Private Equity / Asset Management

The role is broad in nature, with regular engagement with clients on all matters related to the specific SPV / Funds within your portfolio

Key Accountabilities and Main Responsibilities

• Maintain the accounting records for a number of large fund clients (assets in the £100's of millions), and liaise with the Investment Managers with respect to the companies' activities
• Review of Monthly/Quarterly management accounts and other accounting reports in accordance with agreed timetables
• Produce Board packs and attend Board meetings
• Review of Net Asset Valuation reports and supporting calculations
• Prepare half year and annual financial statements in accordance with the relevant accounting standards (IFRS and UK GAAP) and liaise with Auditors
• Client Relationship: Point-of-contact for multiple clients (internal and external) at a daily operational level
• Ensuring books and records are correct and that accounting information is correctly
• Review of Company management accounts and associated support schedules
• NAV Calculation preparation
• Ensure deadlines are met by planning and scheduling effectively, including the use of our operational improvement software

Experience Required

• ACA / ACCA Qualified - 2025/2026
• Experience gained within Audit / Assurance and posessing sound knoweledge of UK GAAP (FRS 102) & IFRS
• Strong communication skills, comfortable working with clients and acting as an extension of their team
• Strong attention to detail
• Good team player
• Exposure to Group accounting with experience of consolidations
• Real Estate experience helpful but not essential
