Job summary

B & T Plant Hire Ltd in England is looking for a Mobile Service Engineer to conduct planned servicing and repairs on plant machinery.

The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing faults, attending breakdowns, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. Candidates should have NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Plant Maintenance or equivalent, along with strong technical skills and a full UK driving license.

Qualifications

• Proven experience servicing and repairing construction or plant machinery.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out planned servicing, inspections and preventative maintenance on both small and larger plant equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and engine faults efficiently.
• Attend customer breakdowns and minimise equipment downtime.
• Complete safety inspections and ensure machinery complies with relevant legislation and company standards.
• Accurately complete job sheets, inspection reports and service records using electronic systems.
• Maintain a clean, organised and fully stocked service vehicle.
• Identify additional repair requirements and report them to the Service Controller.
• Work closely with the service office to plan daily workloads and respond to emergency call-outs when required.
• Promote a professional image of B&T Plant Hire Limited at all times.

Key Skills and Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Plant Maintenance or Land-Based Engineering (or equivalent).
• Proven experience servicing and repairing construction or plant machinery.
