There are legal careers where you deal with files.
And there are careers where you become a trusted part of people's lives.
This is the second kind.
We are looking for a Lifetime Planning and Probate Solicitor to join an established and growing legal team in Carmarthen. This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys the law, but understands that the best private client work is ultimately about people, families, relationships and the things that matter most to them.
You will work with individuals and families across a broad range of lifetime planning and probate matters, helping clients make important decisions with clarity and confidence. Your work will have a genuine impact, whether you are helping someone plan for the future, supporting a family through bereavement or dealing with the complexities of an estate.
You will advise clients across areas including Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney, estate planning, probate and estate administration.
You will have the opportunity to work on matters ranging from straightforward estates to more complex family and financial circumstances, building strong and lasting relationships with your clients along the way.
We are looking for someone who can do more than simply respond to an instruction.
Someone who asks the extra question.
Someone who notices the issue a client may not have thought about.
Someone who takes the time to understand the family behind the legal matter.
You will be encouraged to develop your own client relationships, contribute to the continued growth of the team and play an active role in the wider professional and local community.
You will be a qualified solicitor with experience in private client, lifetime planning, wills and probate or a closely related area.
You will have sound technical knowledge and take pride in producing high quality work, but technical ability is only part of what we are looking for.
You may already have several years of experience, or you may be ready to take the next step in your career. What matters most is your approach, your ambition and the quality of experience you want to create for your clients.
You will join a team that believes good legal work starts with good relationships.
The wider organisation has deep roots across Wales and the South West, with a long history of supporting individuals, families, businesses and local organisations. That heritage matters, but so does looking forward.
The culture is ambitious without losing its down to earth character. People are encouraged to share knowledge, support one another and keep developing. There is a genuine focus on creating an environment where talented people can do their best work while maintaining a healthy balance outside the office.
Community is important too. The organisation actively supports charities and local initiatives and encourages its people to contribute their time, expertise and energy beyond their day to day roles.
In Carmarthen, you will be part of a well established local team with access to specialist colleagues across a much wider network. That means you can offer clients the personal service they expect from a local practice while drawing on considerable depth of legal expertise when matters require it.
This is a chance to join a business with strong foundations and ambitious plans for the future.
Most importantly, you will have the opportunity to build a career around work that matters.
This is not simply an opportunity to take on another caseload.
It is an opportunity to become part of a team with strong local roots, an established reputation and a genuine commitment to its people and communities.
You will have the autonomy to build trusted client relationships, the support of experienced colleagues around you and the opportunity to develop your career within an organisation that values both professional excellence and the human side of legal work.
If you are looking for a role where your legal expertise, judgement and personality are equally valued, this could be an excellent next step.
