The opportunity

We are looking for a pro-active and confident individual to support our Agency Marketing and New Business Team in London.

As a New Business & Marketing Director, you will report to the MD Growth & Marketing, responsible for driving, planning, and management of business development efforts for new and existing B2B and B2C clients across our London office.

How you'd spend your day

  1. Drive Iris' Business Development efforts, owning strategic and day-to-day management of projects (search consultant programming and prospecting efforts).
  2. Develop, write, and execute creative and informative RFI/RFP presentations that highlight Iris' capabilities, resources, and outlook.
  3. Conduct research of new business prospect brands and clients.
  4. Identify agency/company conflicts.
  5. Track, monitor, and report on actual business development performance against plan.
  6. Be a key part of the presentation team at significant new client meetings.
  7. Conceptualize and develop new business marketing materials and related collateral to support overall marketing efforts.
  8. Work with PR & Communications Manager to develop a 'go-to-market strategy' for business and industry press, and to highlight significant agency resources.
  9. Manage logistics to ensure all efforts are coordinated and running smoothly from start to finish (i.e., organizing team meetings, brainstorming, creative briefs, reviews, and preparing all the material required for the presentation).
  10. Maintain knowledge of current events within our industry including market trends and emerging competitors.
  11. Manage new business contact database.
  12. Maintain knowledge of Iris talent and core capabilities - become fluent in building teams based on RFP ask.
  13. Contribute to and communicate creative visions to the design team and provide insight into the presentation room, design of materials, etc.
  14. You will be managing two others in the department across marketing and sales.

What we're looking for

  1. Someone with experience in an agency marketing and/or business development role (or equivalent).
  2. A proven track record for new revenue and new business opportunities.
  3. Full service, Healthcare, Social, B2B, Performance Marketing, Media, and B2C experience desired; expertise across all is not expected.
  4. Brings to the table existing intermediary/search consultant relationships.
  5. Brings to the table existing industry press relationships.
  6. Ideally, event management experience.
  7. Dynamic leadership, team building, and team management skills.
  8. A solid understanding of the market landscape - big players, industry bodies, key events, biggest influencers, Iris competitors.
  9. Demonstrated ability to operate successfully in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, with high energy and vibrance.
  10. Ability to analyze, develop, sell-in, and manage business strategies, plans, and business cases.
  11. Strong presentation and senior client-facing skills.
  12. Extreme sensitivity to and respect for working in confidentiality.
  13. Ideally, management experience.
