Job summary

Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Therapy Assistant (Band 3) to join the Acute Neuroscience Therapy Team at John Radcliffe. The role supports Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists in neurosurgery, neuro-oncology, neurology and spinal cord injury, with emphasis on recovery and discharge planning.

The post includes administrative duties, equipment stock management and opportunities for CPD; staff supervision and departmental in-service training are available.

Qualifications

• General education to GCSE level or equivalent.
• Good written and spoken English language skills.

Responsibilities

• To have an understanding of patient consent to carry out assessment/treatment, and ensure valid consent is gained where possible.
• To provide patient centred assessments and interventions with support from senior colleagues.
• To follow rehabilitative pathways as set by senior therapists.
• Support therapists to set goals and treatment plans for patients.
• Ensure documentation is accurate and completed in a timely manner.
• Liaise with the multidisciplinary team, patients and carers for smooth patient care.
