Job summary

University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Senior Physiotherapist (Team Leader) for a part-time 32-hour post in the Regional Neurosurgery & Neurology Unit. You will join a large MDT to deliver and develop high‑quality physiotherapy services within a Teaching Trust and Major Trauma Centre.

The post holder will have managerial responsibility for registered and unregistered staff, lead advanced assessments, and guide pathway development.

Qualifications

• Significant post-registration experience in acute neuroscience including neurosurgery/neurology/major trauma.
• Experience in staff management, supervision and performance development.
• Proven involvement in education and clinical training of others.
• Experience with clinical/service evaluation and quality improvement.

Responsibilities

• Work autonomously, performing specialist advanced assessments and treatment for complex acute neuroscience patients.
• Lead and manage a team of registered and unregistered staff, including rotation planning and appraisals.
• Contribute to education programmes and respiratory competency training within the unit.
• Engage in service evaluation and quality improvement projects and apply current neuroscience evidence to practice.
• Demonstrate strong communication, leadership and collaborative working across the MDT.
