Job summary

Eastcott Referrals, part of Linnaeus Veterinary Limited, seeks a Referral Veterinary Nurse to join our Neurology team in a permanent, 40-hour-week role with on-call and weekend work. You will assist with consults, admissions and discharges, and oversee anesthesia-related tasks within a busy referral hospital.

Qualifications

• RVN with keen interest in neurology.
• Willingness to develop skills through CPD and training.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for anaesthesia, including examinations and premedication.
• Monitor anaesthesia for neurology investigations and procedures (MRI, CT, neurosurgery).
• Recover patients from anaesthesia and hand over to ward nurses.
• Prepare and send cerebrospinal fluid samples for analysis and assist CSF collection.
• Provide inpatient care including urinary catheter management and chemotherapy administration.
• Collaborate with physiotherapy for inpatient rehabilitation.
• Create and update neurology SOPs and related protocols.
• Maintain communication with Workflow team to ensure efficient patient flow.
