South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust in Croydon is seeking an experienced clinical leader to head the Neurodevelopmental Assessment Team. The post focuses on shaping services for children, young people and families with ADHD and ASD, driving high‑quality, evidence‑based care and service improvement.

You will oversee waiting lists, lead governance, supervise staff and manage budgets, while fostering collaboration and anti-racist practice within a committed team.

Qualifications

• Expertise in neurodevelopmental presentations, particularly ADHD and/or ASD.
• Background in Clinical Psychology, Child Psychotherapy, Family Therapy, or Nursing.
• Strong leadership skills with a commitment to delivering high-quality care and service improvement.

Responsibilities

• Provide operational and clinical leadership to the Neurodevelopmental Assessment Team.
• Lead the development and improvement of the neurodevelopmental service with evidence-based care.
• Monitor and manage service performance, quality standards and KPIs.
• Oversee waiting lists to ensure timely access to assessment and intervention pathways.
• Provide clinical and managerial supervision to team members for professional development.
• Lead on governance processes including investigation and learning from SUIs.
• Hold responsibility for the team's budget and contribute to resource management.
• Ensure compliance with national, professional, and organisational standards.
• Drive operational effectiveness and support service objectives.
• Provide expert clinical consultation for complex decision-making.
