Job summary

Hertfordshire Community NHS Trust seeks a Consultant Community Paediatrician to join the Autism Assessment Team serving Watford, St Albans, Hemel Hempstead and surroundings. The post focuses on neurodevelopment disorders, including autism and ADHD, with multi-agency collaboration.

Registered with the GMC and on the Specialist Register (or near admission) is essential. You will lead clinical duties, teaching, and safeguarding activities within the West Hertfordshire Child Development Team.

Qualifications

• GMC registration and practicing status required.
• On GMC Specialist Register within six months of CCT or CESR in process.
• MRCPCH or equivalent qualifications required.
• Competent to Higher Specialist Paediatric Training or equivalent.
• Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) training.

Responsibilities

• Assess children with neurodevelopment conditions including autism and ADHD.
• Safeguard children and manage looked after children, school health.
• Support special educational needs, teaching and training.
• Provide expert advice to GPs and health professionals on neuro-disabilities.
• Attend safeguarding strategy meetings and case conferences; contribute to service development.
