Job summary

Hertfordshire Community NHS Trust seeks a Consultant Community Paediatrician to join the Autism Assessment Team in West Hertfordshire. The post focuses on neurodevelopment, autism and multi‑agency assessments across Watford, St Albans and Hemel Hempstead.

You will provide expert clinical leadership, teach trainees, and collaborate with paediatric and CAMHS colleagues within the Neurodiversity Pathway. NHS dedicated, with a strong community focus.

Qualifications

• Registered with GMC (Full) to practise in the UK.
• MRCPCH or equivalent for Consultant level.
• Higher Specialist Paediatric Training or equivalent.
• Academic or research qualifications in Paediatrics (MSc/PhD) are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assess children with neurodevelopment conditions including autism, ADHD and neuro-disabilities.
• Lead and participate in multi-agency assessments and neurodiversity pathways.
• Provide expert advice to GPs and other health professionals; contribute to safeguarding and service development.
