Job summary

Vallum Associates seeks a network-focused tester to apply non-functional testing principles within IT and networking environments. You will work with Layer 2/3 networking concepts, deploy and configure Wi‑Fi networks, and use standard testing tools to validate performance and reliability.

You will document results clearly for stakeholders and support public sector/HE IT projects with Juniper devices and ITSM platforms.

Qualifications

• Experience with non-functional testing in IT or network environments.
• Solid understanding of Layer 2/Layer 3 networking concepts (VLANs, IP addressing, routing, switching).
• Experience deploying and configuring Wi‑Fi networks (802.11 standards, SSIDs, roaming).
• Ability to use common network test tools (ping, iperf, throughput testers) and read monitoring outputs.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to document results for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Familiarity with Juniper equipment (switches, WLCs, APs) or IT projects in public sector/HE environments.
• Knowledge of ITSM tools and concepts (ServiceNow, JIRA, SolarWinds; SIAM, warranty, hypercare).
