Job description

Location: Tornio or Helsinki, Finland; Avesta, Sweden; Sheffield, England; Krefeld, Germany; Katowice, Poland or Vilnius, Lithuania

Outokumpu is looking for two Network Specialists to join the Compute and Network service!

The role will support the numerous global IT projects ongoing within Outokumpu where network support is needed, drive improvements in our security posture, and provide day-to-day operational network support to existing partners.

Responsibilities

• Support projects with network requirements and assist vendors with fixing/troubleshooting network issues.
• Assist the Network Architect with the design and implementation of new networks, network solutions, and requirements.
• Help users log correct firewall opening requests and validate these requests together with vendors.
• Aid in the development and enforcement of firewall policies and rules to control inbound and outbound network traffic.
• Regularly review and update firewall configurations with vendors and the rest of the network team to ensure alignment with security best practices and organizational policies.
• Create and maintain network documentation, including network diagrams, configurations, procedures, firewall configurations, and rules.

Key Technical Experience, Knowledge, and Qualifications

• Technical Knowledge about networks in general and academic degree to prove it
  • Palo Alto Firewall configuration and management
  • In-depth knowledge of networking concepts, protocols, and technologies (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs)
  • Familiarity with network monitoring and management tools (e.g., SNMP, Wireshark)
  • HP Aruba switch and Wireless Access Point configuration, management, and deployment
  • Knowledge of Azure and Azure Networking would be beneficial
• Experience supporting corporate WAN, LAN & WLAN environments
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills in English
• ITIL Qualified – Minimum Foundation level
