Job summary

Thames Water is seeking a Network Service Technician to join our team in Highworth. This full-time, permanent role involves operating and isolating water mains, owning customer queries at homes or work sites, and supporting leakage detection projects to minimise disruption to supply.

You will work 38 hours per week with a rota including 1 in 8 late shifts and standby. A full UK driving licence is required as travel between sites is common.

Qualifications

  • Full UK driving licence; travel between sites will be required.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Confidence at completing hands-on tasks independently.
  • Strong IT skills.
  • Basic knowledge of domestic plumbing or water mains/leakage desirable.

Responsibilities

Job description

We are looking for a Network Service Technician to join Thames Water on a full-time, permanent basis.

This is an exciting, varied, customer-facing role where, day-to-day, you will resolve customer network challenges to ensure minimal disruption to customer supply. You will support a variety of projects, ensuring the best service is given to our customers, helping with everything from pressure issues to emergency repairs.

Base Location:

Highworth – SN6 7NA, travel to other Thames Valley sites required

Hours

38 hours per week, plus rota (1 in 8 late shifts & standby rota)

What you will be doing as a Network Service Technician
  • Operating and isolating water mains for planned or emergency works
  • Owning and resolving customer queries and complaints at their homes or places of work
  • Supporting project work and leakage detection activities
  • Investigating and resolving network performance issues
  • Ensuring compliance with health and safety procedures and water quality standards
The essential criteria to help you succeed in this role are:
  • Full UK licence as travelling between sites will be required; a company van will be provided
  • Excellent customer service and communication skillsAn enthusiastic, can‑do attitude

  • Strong IT skills
