Job summary

InfoSec People Ltd is supporting a leading utilities and Critical National Infrastructure organisation in the search for a Network Security Engineer to join the Technical Operations team.

You will maintain and enhance a secure enterprise network across the UK, spanning Cisco, Fortinet and Azure, and contribute to major infrastructure projects, security initiatives and service improvements.

Qualifications

• Experience with Cisco routing and switching in enterprise networks.
• Knowledge of Cisco ACI and Fortinet management (FMG).
• Understanding of BGP, VPNs, VLANs, DNS and DHCP.
• Experience with network security technologies and firewalls.
• Familiarity with network monitoring tools such as SolarWinds.
• CCNA certification or equivalent, AZ-700 is desirable.
• NAC experience and network automation/scripting beneficial.
• IDS/IPS technologies exposure in regulated environments.

Responsibilities

• Managing and supporting WAN, LAN, Wi-Fi and firewall infrastructure.
• Maintaining Cisco and Fortinet network environments.
• Reviewing technical designs and ensuring security best practice.
• Working closely with Cyber Security teams on vulnerability remediation.
• Managing network performance, capacity and availability.
• Acting as an escalation point for complex technical issues.
• Driving automation and operational improvements.
• Collaborating with internal stakeholders and external service providers.
• Supporting critical infrastructure services within a secure environment.
