Job summary

Matchtech Group is seeking a Network Security Engineer to join a secure, enterprise-scale environment supporting critical services across the UK. You will manage WAN/LAN/Wi‑Fi and firewall infrastructure, maintain Cisco and Fortinet environments, and contribute to Azure networking initiatives.

The role requires strong network engineering, Cisco and Fortinet expertise, Azure networking experience, and security-focused design review. Hybrid working and ongoing training are offered.

Qualifications

• Strong Network Engineering experience.
• Cisco routing and switching expertise.
• Experience with Cisco ACI and FortiManager.
• Strong Fortinet skills including FortiGate environments.
• Azure networking experience.
• Knowledge of BGP, VPNs, VLANs, DNS and DHCP.
• Experience of network security technologies and firewalls.
• Experience with network monitoring tools such as SolarWinds.
• CCNA certification or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Managing and supporting WAN, LAN, Wi‑Fi and firewall infrastructure.
• Maintaining Cisco and Fortinet network environments.
• Supporting Azure networking services.
• Reviewing technical designs and ensuring security best practice.
• Working with Cyber Security teams on vulnerability remediation.
• Managing network performance, capacity and availability.
• Acting as escalation point for complex technical issues.
• Driving automation and operational improvements.
• Collaborating with internal stakeholders and external service providers.
• Supporting critical infrastructure services within a secure environment.
