Network Security Engineer (MOD DV)
Herefordshire (Onsite)
£Negotiable (Outside IR35)
12 Month Contract

Role details:

We're partnering with a leading consultancy who support the operation and assurance of IT services for the MOD. They are looking for a Network Security Engineer to design, implement and maintain robust network security measures.

Responsibilities:

• Firewall configuration
• Review, amend, and advise on firewall rules and intrusion prevention policies and provide guidance on all aspects of network security.
• Routing, switching and Unified Communications support across the networks.
• Risk assessments and security audits - detailed reporting, identifying risks, mitigation recommendations. Regular review and assessment of the organisation's security posture.
• Monitoring and incident response plans. Implementation of threat detection and response tools e.g. PRTG.
• Compliance documentation e.g. Defstan, GDPR, relevant ISO standards.
• Network security design and configuration

Requirements:

• 3-5+ years professional experience supporting or developing IT infrastructure
• Strong understanding of network principles across network firewalls
• CCNP Security. Full certification comprising 350-701 SCOR and a concentration exam.
• CCNP Route and Switch full certification. Also now known as CCNP Enterprise comprising 350-401 ENCOR and a concentration exam. Preferably 300-410 ENARSI.
• Extensive experience supporting complex campus area networks (CAN) and wide area networks (WAN). Extensive knowledge of OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, DMVPN, GRE, IPSEC, VLANs & trunking, Spanning Tree.
• Extensive Cisco firewall experience.
• Extensive Juniper firewall experience.
• Experience with network logging and analysis tools (e.g. PRTG, Solar Winds, ELASTIC, Wireshark).

Eligibility:

To be considered for the role, you must have active MOD DV Clearance.
