Job summary

Astreya is seeking a Network Provisioning Engineer II for its London operations. The role focuses on provisioning, migration and decommissioning of ISP and backbone circuits, with a strong emphasis on Juniper and Cisco routers and automation.

You will coordinate internal/external orders and ensure timely delivery of services. This position requires the ability to work independently with precision, and to communicate effectively with vendors, customers, and internal teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (B.S/B.A) from college or university with 2–5 years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Builds productive internal and external working relationships
• Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action
• Experience with basic telecommunications practices, terminologies, and interfaces
• Knowledge of cable throughput and transit distances
• Understanding of telecommunications industry in a switched network provisioning environment
• Familiarity with DS1, DS3, and DS0 circuits
• Knowledge of Access Server Request (ASR) to local carriers
• Understanding of provisioning network bandwidth for IP transit, fiber, voice and wavelength services

Responsibilities

• Focal point for all internal and external orders required to maintain the network

• Review ticket requirements and design path, reserve router interface, and request cross-connects
• Track milestones and proactively drive activities to ensure orders complete on time
• Provide timely status updates throughout the implementation life cycle
• Design, provision, and test delivered services for quality hand-off
• Expedite issues to ensure timely service delivery
• Communicate and collaborate with internal customers, stakeholders and network carriers
• Support planned systems maintenance with minimal impact

Network Provisioning Engineer II

Manage the ISP peering circuit provisioning, migration and decom.

Also handle backbone circuits rovisioning, migration and decom.

Well verse with Juniper/Cisco router.

What this Job Entails:

The Network Provisioning Engineer II is the focal point for all internal and external orders required to maintain the network. This position requires the ability to work independently with a high level of accuracy and attention to details.

Scope:

• Applies company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues
• Works on problems of moderate scope
• Receives general instructions on routine work and detailed instructions on new projects

Your Roles and Responsibilities:

• Participate in implementation of various software services
• Review ticket requirements, reserving router interface, assigning patch panel demarcation, designing path, track FOC and DLR, requesting patching between equipment, and ordering cross-connects
• Track milestones and proactively drive any activities that may jeopardize orders from completing on time
• Provide thorough and timely status throughout the entire implementation life cycle in the tracking system; including communicating vendor provisioning/install lead times
• Document service requests, elevate as needed, and provide timely and accurate updates
• Design, provision, and test delivered services to ensure quality hand-off to internal customers
• Expedite and elevate issues when necessary to ensure timely delivery of services
• Prioritize projects, manage and direct activities to deliver connectivity within project schedule
• Communicate and collaborate with internal customers, stakeholders and network carriers
• Participate in metrics development and operational reporting/reviews
• Support planned systems maintenance activity while minimizing impact to services
• Read and comprehend vendor specific requirements

Required Qualifications/Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree (B.S/B.A) from four-college or university and 2 to 5 years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

• Experience with basic telecommunications practices, terminologies, and interfaces
• Knowledge of cable throughput and transit distances

Preferred Qualifications:

• Network Certification
• Various coding experience
