Job description

A highly accomplished and detail-oriented UK-based Network Practice Lead is required to join a leading IT solutions and services provider during a significant period of growth and success.

The contract is home-based, allowing candidates to claim mileage for travel to office or client sites. Candidates must be UK-based and able to travel to either the Reading or Leeds office as required.

The Role:

As the Network Practice Lead, your main responsibilities will include building resilient, scalable, and modern product offerings and GTM strategies, as well as leading initial scale engagements with key clients as the practice grows. You will drive the development of cutting-edge WAN and LAN networking technologies and shape new service propositions. This is an opportunity to make a significant impact by defining and productising new services.

The role is client-facing but requires strong technical expertise. You should be commercially aware, a skilled communicator, and capable of engaging with a range of stakeholders from client C-Suite to internal Board members.

Vendor agnosticism is crucial. You need excellent knowledge of multi-vendor networking solutions, including traditional WAN, next-gen cloud-delivered WAN and LAN architectures, security, and connectivity. You should be able to develop a client's Internetwork Strategy Roadmap, integrating benefits from multiple business propositions, including Cloud networking. A customer-centric approach focused on outcome-based solutions is essential.

Ideal Experience:
  • Deep knowledge of major networking vendors such as Fortinet, Palo Alto, Cisco, HPE Aruba, and NVIDIA (Mellanox & Cumulus)
  • Experience working for a value-added reseller or managed service provider
  • Knowledge of virtualised network functions (NFVs) and Cloud network virtual appliances (NVAs)
  • Formal training or certification in network migration concepts
  • Hands-on experience building networking environments with security and best practices, using infrastructure as code tools like Terraform, Ansible, Python
  • Proven track record managing large-scale network projects and third-party vendors
  • Experience in the IT market with a focus on team and individual development
  • Solid understanding of security and connectivity, especially in Hybrid Cloud contexts
  • Experience delivering change initiatives aligned with business strategy
  • Skills in portfolio creation, management, strategic planning, and GTM strategies
