Job summary

Warwickshire County Council is seeking a Network Planning Officer to lead the review and development of the county’s public transport network. You will design and optimise routes, timetables and services to meet evolving demand, while contributing to funding bids and working with operators and internal teams to deliver improvements.

You will join a collaborative Public Transport team, using data-led approaches and engaging with stakeholders to shape a more accessible, sustainable transport

• Knowledge of transport funding and business case development.

The role

Working alongside another Network Planning Officer, you will:

• Lead the review and development of Warwickshire’s public transport network
• Design and optimise routes, timetables and services to meet evolving demand
• Contribute to funding bids (DfT, developer contributions and other streams)
• Collaborate with operators, stakeholders and internal teams to deliver improvements
• Support the development of innovative, data-led approaches to network planning

You’ll be part of a skilled Public Transport team, reporting to the Public Transport Service Manager, and working in a collaborative, forward-thinking environment.

About you

We’re looking for an experienced professional who can bring both expertise and insight:

• Proven experience in public transport planning (typically 5+ years or equivalent)
• Strong skills in routing, scheduling and service design
• Knowledge of transport funding and business case development
• Confident engaging with a wide range of stakeholders and partners
• Comfortable using data and digital tools to inform planning decisions
