Job summary

Neath Port Talbot Council is seeking a Network Manager to lead Network Management for the South Wales Trunk Road Agent (SWTRA). Based in Coryton, you will work with the Strategic Manager (Network Operations and Resilience) and join the senior management team.

The role offers a generous total reward package, including a starting salary of £57,497 rising to £60,025, plus enhanced pension contributions, holiday entitlement, development opportunities and employee support programmes.

Responsibilities

• To support the Strategic Manager (Network Operations and Resilience) and deputise as necessary, in the overall management of the South Wales Trunk Road Agent, with specific responsibility for Network Management.
• To be responsible for the promotion, development and effective performance of the agent in the provision of a broad portfolio high quality network management services to ensure that the Strategic Road Network in South Wales is able to support the travelling public moving safely and to provide reliable journey times.
• Services within Network Management for which you will be responsible for include: Incident Management; Resilience Planning; Civil Contingencies Act; Tunnel Management; Winter and Adverse weather planning; Climate adaptation planning; Road Space Coordination and Major Event planning & management.

Responsibilities

You will be a member of the SWTRA Senior Management team and be expected to be accountable and provide leadership, direction and operational management support to the Network Management team in achieving its delivery objectives.

To be responsible for the promotion, development and effective performance of the agent in the provision of a broad portfolio high quality network management services to ensure that the Strategic Road Network in South Wales is able to support the travelling public moving safely and to provide reliable journey times.

Services within Network Management for which you will be responsible for include:

• New Roads and Street works management
• Abnormal Loads routing
• Welsh Government Traffic Officer Service
