We’re a growing, Midlands-based FTSE100 listed company and welcome people from all walks of life, celebrating their individuality, as we know diverse minds, experiences, and backgrounds help us to learn and better serve our customers and communities.

It’s an exciting time to join, as we have a huge ambition to deliver bigger and better over the next 5-year regulatory period. If you’re seeking an exciting and rewarding career, Severn Trent is the place to be.

Due to a new programme to deliver a full mains renewal across our region, we are recruiting to scale our teams for this significant work. This is your opportunity to be part of this transformation!

We are looking for a Network Logistics Operative responsible for managing large-scale construction activity across multiple sites.

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW

As our Network Logistics Operative, you’ll ensure the safe, timely, and compliant delivery of construction equipment and materials onsite, including import/export of reinstatement materials, delivery of fittings, and use of mechanical excavation equipment and vehicles.

You’ll drive Logistics vehicles, mainly HGV “Grab” lorries, and undertake the safe removal of waste materials and spoil, as well as delivering new materials to facilitate main renewal phases.

The role involves transporting and delivering plant and equipment, completing dynamic risk assessments, and some construction activities like sectioning and service laying to support the Network Construction teams.

This is a 42-hour work week, Monday to Friday, starting at 7:30 AM, ending at 4:30 PM, with a half-hour early finish at 4:00 PM on Fridays.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Transport reinstatement materials and complete risk assessments.
  • Collaborate with the Network Logistics supervisor and Construction Operatives, including asbestos removal.
  • Ensure safe excavations and maintain access, liaising with customers as needed.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE

Candidate must hold a Class 2 Drivers Licence (preferably CE), HGV qualification, and experience driving HGVs. A HIAB (Grab) qualification and NRSWA Operative certification are also required.

You should have a good track record in logistics vehicle driving, customer service skills, and knowledge of tachograph and driving regulations. A positive, caring attitude is also essential.

We welcome diverse applicants who are eager to contribute and make a difference.

WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU

We offer a range of benefits including holiday entitlement, bonus schemes, pension contributions, share schemes, training, electric vehicle options, family policies, volunteering days, and incentives for mains renewal work.
