Job summary

Renault Group seeks a Network Infrastructure Engineer to support Alpine F1 Team’s high-performance network across factory, datacentre and race operations. You will ensure secure, resilient and available services, while providing expert 3rd-line support and driving network improvements.

Key focus areas include LAN/WAN, wireless, firewall and VPN technologies, with emphasis on cybersecurity, automation and ITIL-aligned change management. Permanent UK work rights required.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting enterprise network environments.
• CCNP level or higher and hands-on Cisco/Meraki deployment experience.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and ITIL-aligned change management experience.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and continually improve network infrastructure to ensure secure, resilient, high-performing services.
• Provide expert 3rd-line support and act as escalation point for complex network incidents.

Network Infrastructure Engineer

Alpine F1 Team is looking for a Network Infrastructure Engineer to help deliver and support the high-performance network infrastructure that supports our factory, datacentre, race and race support operations. Your role will be ensuring that the services we use are secure, resilient, performant and available.

The Role

You will provide expert engineering support across our network infrastructure, acting as a technical specialist for network operations, troubleshooting and service improvement. This will include:

• Monitoring, maintaining and continuously improving network infrastructure to ensure secure, resilient and high-performing services
• Providing expert 3rd-line support and acting as an escalation point for complex network incidents and service issues
• Updating incidents within the Incident Management System
• Designing, implementing and supporting enterprise network solutions across LAN, WAN, wireless, firewall and VPN technologies
• Driving cyber security best practices, network automation and continual service improvement through proactive monitoring, problem management and root cause analysis
• Managing network changes, documentation, hardware and software lifecycle activities, and configuration backups in line with ITIL processes and operational standards
• Collaborating with internal teams and third-party suppliers to deliver upgrades, support projects and enhance overall network capability
• Sharing technical expertise across the IT function while staying up to date with emerging technologies and industry best practice

The Person

We are looking for a highly motivated and technically capable network professional with strong experience supporting enterprise network environments. You will have a passion for delivering reliable, resilient and secure network services, combined with excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to perform effectively in a fast-moving, operationally critical environment.

Ideally, you will have strong experience and/or knowledge in several of the following areas:

• Cisco certifications at CCNP level or above
• Cisco networking technologies, Meraki networking solutions, Firewall and VPN technologies
• Enterprise networking protocols including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, STP, QoS and SNMP and Network security principles and secure network design
• Resilient network design, routing and switching, WAN and SD-WAN, wireless networking and highly available network architectures
• Several years’ experience in network administration, protocols, troubleshooting, switching and routing, datacentres
• Managing and resolving complex infrastructure incidents with minimal supervision
